A warm alpine hideaway pairing Japanese hospitality with ski-in, ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées.
Aman Le Mélézin opened in December 1992 on the Bellecôte piste in Courchevel 1850 as Aman’s first property in Europe: a small family hotel reimagined by Ed Tuttle, open only from December to April each winter. The gentle Bellecôte run begins at the door and links into Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world, where ski butlers carry equipment out and see guests onto the snow.
The 28 rooms, suites, and apartments face the piste, the village, or the mountains, many with south-facing balconies; the largest, Suite Le Mélézin, adds a fireplace and two balconies. A spa built for the hotel’s 25th anniversary sits two floors below the building, with a 14-meter lap pool at its heart, and dining centers on Nama, where traditional Japanese cooking runs from sushi and sashimi to wagyu and ramen.

Ski-in, ski-out on the Bellecôte piste
The gentle Bellecôte run begins at the door and links into Les Trois Vallées, the largest linked ski area in the world. Boots warm overnight on heated racks, and ski butlers carry equipment out and see guests onto the snow each morning.
Japanese dining at Nama
Nama serves traditional Japanese cooking from breakfast through dinner, from sushi and sashimi to wagyu and ramen. From February to April, Yakiniku on the Terrace serves lunch with cuts grilled at the table over embers, and the bar keeps Courchevel’s largest collection of sake and Japanese whisky.
A spa built beneath the hotel
For the hotel’s 25th anniversary, the entire building was raised onto stilts and 767 square meters were excavated across two floors below. The spa holds a 14-meter lap pool with two Jacuzzis, five treatment rooms including a Thai massage suite, a hammam, a sauna, a cold plunge, and studios for fitness and yoga.
Rooms, suites, and apartments
The 28 rooms, suites, and apartments face the piste, the village, or the mountains, many with south-facing balconies. The Ski Piste with Hot Tub rooms and suites add a private hot tub on the terrace. Suite Le Mélézin is the largest at 93 square meters, with a fireplace and two balconies.
Dinner at Les Prés de la Croix
At dusk a snowmobile runs from La Tania up to Les Prés de la Croix, a mountain chalet where Savoyard fondue is served by the fire. The descent is made by toboggan or snowbike.
Bookable activities
First tracks at dawn, snowshoeing, hot-air balloon flights at sunrise, helicopter and paragliding tours, and daily yoga in the spa studio.
