Déstaire is an editorial publication: a considered selection of exceptional hotels and stays, written and photographed by us, and a small, growing collection of paid city guides sold directly on this site. Using this site, and buying a guide, means agreeing to the following.

Editorial nature

What you’ll find here are recommendations, not guarantees. We write about places we believe in, but rates, availability, amenities, and other details belong to the properties themselves and are subject to change without notice. Always confirm specifics directly with a hotel before booking. The same goes for a city guide: an address earns its place because we believe in it, never because anyone paid to be listed.

City guides: what you’re buying

Each city guide is a one-time purchase, at the price shown on its page, tied to your account. Buying one unlocks the full guide, every address, on the map, in place of the free preview. It is yours forever: not a subscription, no recurring charge, and later updates to the guide are included at no extra cost. We do not add tax at checkout. To buy or read a guide you own, you’ll sign in with a one-time code sent to your email; payment itself is handled by Stripe, and we never see or store your card details.

Your right to cancel

If you’re buying as a consumer in the EU, you normally have fourteen days to change your mind about an online purchase and get a full refund, no reason needed. That right is built for goods that arrive later. A guide doesn’t: it unlocks the moment you pay, and EU law lets you agree to trade the fourteen-day right for that immediate access. Checkout displays this notice before you pay, and by completing the purchase you agree that your access begins right away and you waive the right to withdraw.

Refunds

Outside of that waiver, purchases are final: we don’t offer refunds for a change of mind once a guide has unlocked. If something goes wrong on our end, the guide fails to unlock, you’re charged twice, or a payment error occurs, email hello@destaire.com and we’ll put it right, including a refund where appropriate. A refund, when we issue one, revokes access to the guide it paid for.

Content and ownership

The writing, photography, and design on this site, guides included, are the property of Lore Studio LLC unless otherwise credited. Please don’t reproduce, republish, or distribute our content without permission. A link back and a note to hello@destaire.com is always welcome.

Déstaire links out to hotels, restaurants, and other third parties so you can book or learn more directly with them. We don’t control those sites, and we’re not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

Acceptable use

This site is provided for personal, non-commercial reading and reference. Please don’t attempt to scrape, copy at scale, or otherwise misuse the site or its content. A guide you’ve bought is for your own use: please don’t share your account, sign-in codes, or a guide’s contents with anyone who hasn’t paid for it, and don’t attempt to access guide content you haven’t bought.

No warranties

This site is provided as is, for general information. We work to keep it accurate, but we make no warranties that it is complete, current, or error-free, and we aren’t liable for decisions made or losses incurred from relying on it. Rates, availability, and other specifics rest with the properties and can change at any time, so always confirm them directly before you book or travel. The same goes for the addresses and practical details in a city guide: we keep them current with seasonal updates, but always confirm specifics, like opening hours or reservations, before you go.
