Villa d’Este

Villa d’Este has stood on the southwestern shore of Lake Como since the 16th century, its manicured gardens and historic architecture having welcomed royalty and celebrities across the generations. The 151 rooms and suites divide between two historic wings, the Cardinal Building and the Queen’s Pavilion, plus four standalone villas attended by dedicated butlers; many have direct lake views or private balconies, with frescoes, silk brocades, and marble bathrooms within.

Five dining venues run from Lombard cuisine at the lakeside Veranda to al fresco meals at the Grill and Mediterranean dishes at Il Platano, with cocktails at the historic Canova Bar. Days revolve around the renowned floating pool, tennis courts, water sports on the lake, and the spa.
